Frequently Asked Questions

Fanclub

QUESTION: Does Thomas make any money on the fanclub?
ANSWER: Quite the opposite! He loses a lot of money on it each year! Just to keep the fans happy! So stop whining!

Q: I sent in my application and money, but I haven't heard from them yet. What's happened?
A: Many things could have happened! Here are a few: No mail has been sent from the fanclub yet (happened to lots of us in 2000); your letter has been stolen from the mail; your letter has got lost somewhere.

Q: I sent in a cheque, but they sent it back to me! Why?
A: You probably didn't make it payable to a German bank. The application form clearly states that if you send a cheque, you must make it payable to a German bank. Why didn't you send cash instead?

Q: Because it could've got stolen.
A: Like a cheque wouldn't be stolen just as easily? Live dangerous! Or, send the money by recommended mail (costs a lot more than a normal letter), or with an express delivery company like UPS or DHL. Or better still - come to the fanclubparty and pay them there. That's fool-proof. ;)

Fanclubparty

QUESTION: Who organises the fanclubparty?
ANSWER: FANS-United. Which means Thomas, Guido Karp and the people at FANS-United. They do a hell of a lot of work for our pleasure, I can tell you!

Q: What's the fanclubparty like?
A: It's FANtastic! At least I think it is... :)

Q: How many are attending the fanclubparty every year?
A: About 500 people. 2000 I think they were 600 people, and 2001 we were 537 people.

Q: Are the fanclubparty-goers only from Germany?
A: Oh no no no! Switzerland, France, Austria, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Russia, and even USA!

Q: Do they just speak German at the parties?
A: They speak a lot of German, but if you ask Guido and Thomas kindly to speak English, then they do it.

Thomas Anders

QUESTION: I heard there is a movie that Thomas is in. What's the title of it, and who did he play?
ANSWER: The movie is called Stockholm Marathon ("Der Kommissar Beck") and is a criminal drama co-production between Sweden and Germany, made in 1993/94. Thomas plays a popstar from Växjö - Hans "Ypsilon" Schaeffer.
Q: Hasn't he been in another movie as well? More recently?
A: Yes! Mühle, Dame, Mord ("Mill, Lady, Murder") and is a criminal drama made in Rhineland-Pfalz. I have never seen it, so all I can say is that Thomas plays the bad guy!

Q: What was Thomas' first thought when he first met Dieter?
A: "He is not ugly." (I swear! I asked him that myself, and that was his answer!)
Q: What was Dieter's first thought when he first met Thomas?
A: "What a small man!" (Gotta love those boys' sense of humour! *LOL*)

Q: Who or what is "Quchiquichi"?
A: It's Thomas and Claudia's dog. A little Malteser girl. Very cute!
Q: How on earth do you pronounce "Quchiquichi"?
A: Kshishi.
Q: What does it mean?
A: Roughly translated from Polish, it means "little Christine", but WW!'s Polish translator says that it's just a general "word" to call cats in Poland.

Q: Is Thomas from Koblenz?
A: Yes, almost! He's from a town southwest of Koblenz, called Münstermaifeld, or rather, the part of Münstermaifeld called Mörz.
Q: Where in Münstermaifeld is the house where he grew up? What does it look like?
A: I won't give you the address or the picture of the house, because I don't think Thomas' parents would like that. If you want to go there, you must do your own detective work, just like I did. Who said life as a fan was easy?! :P
Q: But at least tell me what it looks like!?
A: It looks like a very nice house to live in. Next question!

Q: I've got an idea that Thomas in fact lives in Höhr-Grenzhausen and not in Koblenz...
A: So did I, but he does live in Koblenz.
Q: But I've almost got some hard evidence...!
A: So have I, like having been outside the building. In Koblenz.
Q: Proove it! WHERE in Koblenz? Give us the address!
A: No - I - won't. Thomas & Claudia live in central Koblenz.

Q: Sofia, have you ever been to Koblenz?
A: Hell yeah!! It's a beautiful town.

Q: I want to go to Koblenz too, can you help me?
A: Depends on how you wish to be helped. I'm not going to pay for your trip! :P
Q: No, I meant what places to see, where to live, where to eat...? Public transport?
A: Oh, OK, sure! See the Guide to Koblenz I've put together.

Q: What is Bernd's (Thomas) middle name?
A: For all that we know, there may not be stars in the sky, and apparently, he hasn't got one!

Q: How can I get a hold of any of the old TA solo albums?
A: The record company isn't printing those albums anymore. Your best bet is to check Amazon.de or eBay.de or contact the people on TAML. Or check second hand record stores if you're in Germany.

Q: Who is the best looking one, really? Nora or Claudia?
A: I have only met Claudia, who is very beautiful. We did have a vote about it on TAML once upon a time. Claudia won by far.

Q: Do you have the phone and/or address to TA?
A: No, and even if I had it I wouldn't pass it on.

Q: Is Thomas married? Dating someone? SINGLE???
A: No, he's not single (sorry!). Since 15 July 2000, he's married to Claudia Hess, who is from the vicinity of Koblenz too!

Q: Does Thomas' mother call him Thomas or Bernd?
A: Bernd, and it's used by his closest friends as well. (His nickname is Bernie, by the way!)

Q: Who told him about the birds and the bees? (=sex)
A: As he said in an interview: the magazine BRAVO!

Q: What song did he sing at his first public appearance (7 years old playing Santa Claus)?
A: He stood on a chair and sang Aba Heidschi Bumbeidschi. It's a German Christmas carol.

Q: Who did Thomas inherit his beautiful voice from?
A: His mother Helga says that it was from his grandfather and his grandfather's brother Tony.

Q: Who's this Nora person I keep on hearing about?
A: Nora Balling was Thomas' wife between 1984 and some time in the mid-1990s. She was the main cause of Modern Talking's split back in 1987. Most Modern Talking fans don't like her very much.

Q: OK, so Nadja Abdel Farrag (Dieter Bohlen's ex-girlfriend) has been in Playboy magazine, but will we ever see Claudia there?
A: No. (Why should she have to take all her clothes of in front of anyone except her husband (or a doctor), hah?)
Q: On TV then, like Verona Felbusch (Dieter's ex-wife)?
A: No, not unless she really dreams of being a TV star, and she doesn't.

Weidungs Welt!

QUESTION: Does the owner of Weidungs Welt! make any money on this site?
ANSWER: Never have, never will.
Q: Hey, but what about those affiliate-banners I saw in the Discography?
A: You think I actually got money for displaying them? Well, I know that's the idea, but that kind of means that people a) have to click the banners and b) end up buying something there. And people didn't, so they didn't work. Which is why I removed them.

Q: Is it Thomas Anders who "owns" this site?
A: How many times do I need to tell you? NO! It's not!
Q: Then who is it?
A: It's me, Sofia. And I'm not from Koblenz either.
Q: Do you really know all these languages, Sofia?
A: Haha, no, I've had people doing the translation for me.
