Bleurgh, godsdamnit!!

Just a quick (?) note to say hello to the lot of ya's. :c) I hope you're OK, I am, although I'm tired. *yawn* It's just about 10pm, and I've been doing some work on the News/Mainpage. Yes, why did we move? Because Crosswinds messed up once and for all now! How? Well, let's see...

First, it was "unlimited webspace and NO ADS! FOR FREE!" (which was why I moved the site from FortuneCity to Crosswinds).
And all of a sudden, there were popup windows. If you didn't want them, you had to pay to get rid of them.
...Not to mention all those bl**dy server problems!!! The site was down 1/3 of the time, didn't load properly 1/3 of the time, actually worked 1/3 of the time. 1/3 is not good enough!
Slooooooow server.
Occasionally, it would let you upload files via FTP - files that came through alright (which was rare), so you could actually see them, and then they removed the FTP access for non-paying members.
A file manager that f***ed up very very often.
Now, they're removing our precious popmail, because they reckon paying members won't send out spam. So, if you want to keep your wonderful popmail, you have to pay.
Did I mention that the popmail server messed up royally a number of times? But it was great when it worked!

So what about this Tripod business then? Fast, free, unlimited, FTP access... and to be honest, I'm surprised there aren't any ads on the page! Not even popups! Is this heaven all over again? Let's just hope it lasts this time... Then again, Lycos Tripod is kind of a huuuuuuuuuge company, while Crosswinds is a whoooooole lot smaller... So here we are.

The other thing that bugs me is something that happened to me today. I go to an education center for adults, and I was wearing one of my MT T-shirts. A guy in my history class said "Modern Talking? Modern Talking?!" and made some noises that were along the lines of a mocking laugh and "I feel sick"-kind of noise. And then he tells me about a comic strip ("Pondus" by Norwegian Frode Øverli), where MT were mentioned. They have "Pondus" in the newspaper we get here, and one day, even I saw one that made me want to search up this Frode-person and do nasty things to him. A friend of the lead character Pondus, keeps on dating really really ugly women (all women in that comic are ugly, except Pondus' wife who looks OK), and one of them mentioned showing all her Modern Talking records, i.e. MT fans are ugly and stupid. Get my point?! The HELL WE ARE!!! It seems we have to do these MT-pride banners a yearly tradition, because they just never give up! They keep mocking us fans, and I'm sick and tired of it! *grrr*
